Want us to fix this?
A result is only useful when something changes. We can take the keywords and content fixes off your list, show you each change first, and send a plain monthly report.
What the keyword density checker does
The keyword density checker counts the words on a page and shows which ones you use most. Paste your text and it runs in your browser with no limit, or enter a page address and our checker reads the live page for you. You see the top single words, the most used two and three word phrases, and how often your target keyword appears as a count and a percent. A short verdict tells you whether the page uses it too little, naturally, or too much.
What you see in the result
- Total words and your most used words, with common filler words left out
- Your most used two and three word phrases
- How many times your keyword appears, and the share of all words that is
- Whether the keyword appears near the top, and a verdict: thin, natural or heavy
Why it matters for a local business
A page should say clearly what it is about, in the words customers use. Too few mentions and a reader or search engine may not see the topic. Too many and the page reads as stuffed, which turns people away. There is no perfect percent, but between about half a percent and three percent usually reads naturally. Seeing real numbers lets you edit by eye and stop guessing.
How to get the most from it
You need: your page text, or a page address. Time: instant.
- Check one page at a time, with one main keyword, such as “water heater repair”.
- If the verdict is heavy, rewrite with natural variations rather than just deleting words.
- Put the keyword in the first hundred words and in at least one heading, where it reads naturally.
What it does not do
Density is a rough guide, not a target to hit. A page that helps the reader beats a page tuned to a number.
Questions
What is a good keyword density?
Roughly half a percent to three percent reads naturally for most pages. Clear writing matters more than the exact figure.
Does pasted text leave my browser?
No. Pasted text is counted on your device and is never sent. Only the page address option asks our checker to fetch a public page.
Why are common words missing?
Words like “the” and “and” are skipped, so the list shows words that carry meaning.
Is the keyword density checker free?
Yes. You get 3 free checks a day with no sign-up. A repeat of the same check within a day is not counted.
What do you do with my details?
We use them only to run the check and send what you asked for. No list selling, and you can unsubscribe any time.
